About Alongside ALS
An independent guide to ALS resources, built to make a difficult search easier to navigate.
Who maintains this site?
Alongside ALS is an independent, volunteer-maintained guide. Its purpose is to help people living with ALS, caregivers, and families find practical assistance, understandable information, and research resources.
Alongside does not provide clinical care, award grants, or decide eligibility. It is independent of the organizations listed here.
How resources are selected
We prioritize official provider pages, public benefits agencies, established ALS organizations, and the official clinical-trial registry. Descriptions summarize what each source offers; inclusion is not a ranking or endorsement. Community discussions are labeled separately from medical evidence.
Grant entries distinguish open applications, closed rounds, waitlists, and information that needs confirmation. A published application does not guarantee funds. State filters help narrow a search but cannot decide whether you qualify.
Study information comes from a dated ClinicalTrials.gov snapshot. Short explanations describe the registry record and are not personalized matches. Studies marked "hand-checked" were also reviewed against recent announcements. Read the full record and ask the study team about eligibility and practical requirements.
Review dates reflect the underlying source check, not a cosmetic page edit. A working link does not confirm that a program is open.
Report outdated information or ask a question
A contact address for corrections and questions is coming soon. In the meantime, if a listing looks out of date, please check the organization's official page, which is linked from every entry.
Please never send medical records, financial documents, passwords, or application details to this website. Send applications directly to the provider.
Accessibility
The site supports keyboard navigation, large controls, a larger-text setting (the "AA" button in the header), and reduced-motion preferences. Please tell us if a page is difficult to use, including your device or assistive technology if you wish. Testing with screen readers, eye-gaze and switch access is an ongoing need; we do not claim certified accessibility compliance.

Browsing this guide
Alongside ALS does not ask you to create an account, fill out a contact form, upload documents, or submit a grant application. Its explorers run in your browser and load resource lists from this website. We have not added advertising trackers to the website code. To see how many people the site is helping, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies, without identifying individual visitors and without following you to other websites.
Saved items on your device
Choosing "Save", ticking a checklist item or adding a note stores that information in this browser's local storage, along with your filter choices. Alongside does not upload it or link it to an account. Anyone using this browser may see it. Use "Clear saved list" on the My plan page to remove saved items, or clear this site's browser data. Private browsing, storage restrictions, or clearing browser data can remove your list. Copy or download your plan if you need to keep a copy. Do not put private medical or financial information in search fields or notes you share.
Hosting and technical information
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which sets security cookies and processes technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, requested pages, and request times to operate the service, prevent abuse, and maintain security. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. Page fonts load from Google Fonts. No advertising service has been added by Alongside.
When you follow a link
Grant providers, forums, social networks, and other linked websites have their own privacy policies. They may collect personal information or use cookies when you visit or apply. Alongside does not receive your application documents through this guide.
Downloaded checklists and trackers
Information entered in a downloaded PDF is handled by your PDF application and any storage or sync service you choose. Alongside does not receive those entries. Keep completed files on a device you trust, and share them only through the intended provider's official process.

Medical information
Content is for general education and is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It does not establish a clinician–patient relationship. Discuss symptoms, medicines, supplements, equipment, and care decisions with a qualified healthcare professional who knows your circumstances. Do not delay seeking care because of something you read here. This website is not an emergency service. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
Grants, benefits, and financial guidance
Listings and application guides are general information, not individualized financial, insurance, tax, or legal advice. Eligibility, funding, award amounts, deadlines, service areas, and program rules can change. A listing does not guarantee acceptance or payment. Maximum awards are not promised amounts, and historical examples are not current award limits. Confirm details directly with the provider, including whether costs need prior approval and whether payment goes to you or a vendor.
External websites and communities
Links are offered as starting points. Inclusion does not imply endorsement, affiliation, sponsorship, or a guarantee of an organization's services. Names and marks belong to their respective owners. Forum posts and personal stories reflect individual experiences and may be inaccurate or unsuitable for your circumstances. Treat treatment claims as questions for your care team.
Sources and accuracy
Study facts are drawn from a dated ClinicalTrials.gov snapshot; full descriptions and eligibility requirements should be read on the official registry. A research phase is not evidence that a treatment is effective. We aim to make this guide useful and accurate, but it may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. Confirm important details with the original source before relying on them.
